Website Management

What does "website management" mean? It means Surelutions will be your webmaster and/or website administrator. We will keep track of your domain name registration, web hosting renewals, ftp user access, and other administrative tasks that may require logging in to your site host control panel.

Why would you want Surelutions to manage your website?

  1. Do you know who is hosting your website, or when and where the domain name was registered?
  2. Do you know how to access your site control panel, and login with your administrative password?
  3. Do you have your site's FTP access and user login address and passwords?
  4. Do you get stressed out when you receive 'urgent' emails from GoDaddy or Network Solutions, or whoever your webhost is?
  5. Do you know how to add an additional email address to your account?
  6. Do you know when your site is up for renewal, or if the domain name registration and hosting are on the same renewal schedule?

If you are comfortable answering these questions, you are well equiped to manage your own hosting and domain services. If you answered "Huh?!" to any or all of these questions, then we would be glad to help you.

Content Updates and Management

We are happy to help you keep your existing website up-to-date, whether you have had it developed with us or with another company. Surelutions can help as needed, or for regularly schedule updates. If you wish, we can also help you identify areas in which you can streamline your process, or enhance your usability, in ways that won't break your budget.

Do It Yourself Content Management

If you would like to be able to edit the content of your website on your own, Surelutions recommends a few of options:

  1. Surelutions develops most of our new websites using Wordpress, a content management system (CMS) and blogging tool. Wordpress allows our clients to maintain their own website content if they wish, or we can provide this service at regularly scheduled intervals or as needed. We began using Wordpress in 2008 and have found it to be a very powerful and robust tool to develop websites, and it is continually improving. Equally important is the fact that our clients can log in from any internet computer to make edits, find it user-friendly and are able to modify their own site content at no additional cost.

  2. For standard websites that were not built on a content-management platform, we recommend Adobe Contribute. It is simple to use and works with any website without additional custom programming. Contribute is designed to work with Dreamweaver, which is the industry standard for website design (and what we use here). Surelutions can provide set up, installation and training based on your needs.

  3. If there are only portions of your existing website that you wish to edit, we can also set up pages or sections where users can log in to make updates, or even integrate a news/blog section if that solution suits your needs. This is useful for brochure-type websites, which only need occassional editing on something like a "Monthly Specials" page.

Each project has different requirements, and Surelutions will work with you to decide which technology is best for your needs. Any of these options also work well with a client-led process where you take care of the weekly updates, and leave the "hard stuff" to us.
